The West Loop has been unstoppable in 2016. There are over 40 projects proposed or under construction for the booming neighborhood.
What was once an industrial corridor full of meat packers and produce distributors has now transformed into one of the city’s premier restaurant and entertainment districts. The Fulton Market area is also quickly becoming one of the city’s most sought after areas for office space. Google has moved in with its 500 plus employees, and McDonalds is currently building its new headquarters on the former site of Oprah’s harpo studios.
The area’s former grittiness and inventory of large and solidly built warehouses was what initially attracted investment, and continues to draw businesses into the Fulton Market District.
Known as the Loft District of Chicago, the West Loop & FMD is full of condominium and loft buildings that were once warehouses. This results in sunny, airy residential spaces with large windows and unique floor plans.
Residents span the spectrum, but because great public and private schools in the area, there are also a number of young families living here. Its proximity to the Loop results in many professionals like us living and working in the neighborhood.
The West Loop and Fulton market district are known around the world as as THE restaurant hot spot. Randolph is known as Restaurant Row!
